Place the mascarpone cheese in a large bowl and set aside. Chocolate syrup or coffee syrup for dipping? To make this dessert coffee-free and pure chocolate goodness, I dip the ladyfingers in a cocoa mixture that tastes like hot chocolate. If you prefer some coffee flavor, you can replace the chocolate syrup with the classic coffee syrup for tiramisu.

Instructions to make Chocolate Tiramisu:
  1. Add 300 ml. of heavy cream along with the espresso or strong filtered coffee into a sauce pan. Keep in mind do not bring this to a boil, let it simmer and stir until you see the first bubbles.
  2. Pour the espresso cream mix into the semi-sweet chocolate and stir with a spoon or fork until the chocolate starts to melt.
  3. Once the chocolate has melted start to whip.
  4. In a large bowl add in the lady fingers and pour in the chocolate mix. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for about an 1 hour, so that the chocolate base can cool.
  5. While the chocolate base is cooling off in the refrigerator, you can work on the Tiramisu filling. In a large bowl, add the Mascarpone cheese and the coffee liqueur and mix. (I use Tia Maria as the coffee liqueur) Mix both ingredients together until it is a smooth base.
  6. Add whip cream into mascarpone mix and whip for a few minutes. Now, as far as I am concerned in regards to making whip cream, not really good at it. 😦 I have tried many times to do it but it just doesn’t work out. Soooo, I buy ready made whip cream. 🙂
  7. Plastic Cone Bag
  8. This little trick helps place the whip cream into the plastic cone bag. Take a large glass place in the plastic cone and fill it in. 🙂
  9. Spread whip cream and top off with Cocoa 🙂 Kali Orexi!!!!

Chocolate tiramisu is a twist on the beloved Italian dessert–it adds several layers of chocolate ganache for a deep, rich chocolate taste. This twist on the familiar Italian favorite calls for hot chocolate instead of espresso, and adds several layers of chocolate ganache for a deep, rich chocolate taste. To decorate, I dust cocoa powder over a stencil to create beautiful stars on top. My brilliant brother, Nate, came up with a version of tiramisu that, while not authentic, uses cocoa powder as a substitute for espresso (and a few other variations) - creating a decadent chocolate tiramisu. What you end up with is a remarkable dessert filled with layers of chocolate-infused ladyfinger cookies and creamy, rich mascarpone custard.
