To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few components. You can have tiramisu using 8 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make Tiramisu:

  2. Prepare Caster sugar
  3. Make ready espresso coffee Brewed , strong (cold)
  4. Get cream Whipped
  5. Prepare cheese Mascarpone
  6. Make ready lady fingers Italian
  7. Take Dark chocolate , grated
  8. Make ready Vanilla

The filling starts with a zabaglione — which is a fancy name for egg yolks whisked with sugar and marsala wine (or rum, in our case) over a double-boiler until light, pale and foamy. This zabaglione establishes the flavor of the whole dish. This classic Tiramisu is made authentically in the Italian way, with espresso soaked ladyfingers layered with a light and airy mascarpone cream, and dusted with cocoa powder to finish. Tiramisu Cream - once beaten whites and cream mixture are combined, it might not be perfect smooth.

Instructions to make Tiramisu:
  1. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl using an electric mixer until it becomes thick and light yellow in color.
  2. Lower the speed to medium and add the mascarpone cheese and vanilla. Whisk until smooth and then fold whipped cream.
  3. Dip one side of each lady finger in the espresso and line the bottom of a dish. Pour half of the cream mixture evenly on  top.
  4. Dip one side of the remaining ladyfingers and place them on top of the cream mixture and pour the rest of the cream mixture over the top.
  5. Smooth the top and cover with cling film. Refrigerate overnight.
  6. Sprinkle grated chocolate before serving.

It will look a bit "lumpy", being the egg whites, which means your cream mixture is lovely and light. The "lumps" smooth out when you spread the cream, and also while resting overnight. When I saw all the other Tiramisu recipes posted, I was hesitant to add my one. But after looking through them, none were quite like mine. This is the only Tiramisu recipe I have ever made, I found it so good I didn't need to seek out another.
