  5. Bake on cookie sheet for about 13-15 minutes. Only the bottoms should be slightly brown. Let cool on a rack.
  6. I made a chocolate glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 heaping tbsp cocoa powder and enough milk to make it thick.

Get it nice and smooth, then add the sugar on medium speed until fluffy and light in color. Stir in the eggs, one at a time, then the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt; stir into the creamed mixture alternately with the buttermilk until well blended.
